Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has described remarks by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)-United Democratic Front (UDF) running-mate Atupele Muluzi as childish, dangerous and shameful for seeking political mileage by using religious beliefs.

The young Muluzi on his campaign trail in Chiradzulu told the people not to vote for United Transformation Movement (UTM) and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) grand alliance alleging that they hate Muslims.

Writing on the official Facebook page of the coalition, HRDC finds the remarks by the hopeful vice president as dangerous aimed at creating political and religious hatred.

“Such words are not good for his political health in as far as Human rights are concerned. As a running mate to the estranged torch bearer,” write HRDC.

The human rights body continued by daring Muluzi to tell people what he will do with the case of late Issa Njaunju, Robert Chasowa, Buleya Lule and Evison Matafale murders which ironically happened during his father’s and DPP eras.

“What we heard from him is political masquerading praising his political and religious hatred propaganda,” writes HRDC.

HRDC went further lecturing the young Muluzi to understand the connection between political hate speech and human rights, urge him to revisit his books for further understanding.

HRDC made it clear that the coalition’s agenda is to see politicians practicing peaceful campaign without hate speeches.

“We want political leaders to tell Malawians how they are going to solve the crisis which currently the Nation is suffering and going through, we want Leaders to tell us how they will uphold the rule of promoting Human rights and not the hate speeches,” Explains HRDC.

The coalition has therefore warned the young Muluzi to put his house in order or else Malawians are going to humble him for he is too young to play hate game.
