The Center for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) has urged political parties to appoint capable Commissioners for credible polls.
CMD Executive Director Kizito Tenthani made the sentiments during his appearance before the Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament.
The CMD fears that it will be difficult to have a well grounded Commission to handle fresh polls as the new Commissioners will not have been fully oriented.
It comes as the tenure for the current Commissioners expires on June 5 and also after Dr. Jane Ansah announced yesterday that she has resigned as Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson.
