Police Officers deployed to provide security in the voter verification exercise in Kasungu are refusing to go to the field demanding half payment of their allowances.
Some of the law enforcers who opted for condition of the anonymity confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
The law enforcers say they will better go back to their respective districts than to suffer in the field.
The half payment is K30,000 each.
The law enforcers have been drawn from Lilongwe, Dowa, and Dedza districts.
