Four grave diggers identified as  Adewale Abiodun, 40; Akinola Sunday, 69; Seun Olomofe, 45; and Oluwadare Idowu 67 have been nabbed by the police in Ondo State for the possession of five fresh human heads of dead people they exhumed from the Cemetery.

According to reports, the four men were arrested by the police after they took off the head of a dead man that was buried a few hours earlier at the cemetery owned by the Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

The family members of the dead man returned to the cemetery a few hours later after burial to cement the grave when they realized that the head of the relative has been removed by the gravediggers and alerted the police for the arrested of these men.

The police also retrieved another four fresh human heads that were also exhumed from the grave.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the arrest and also said that further investigations are being conducted to unwrap other members of the syndicate.

“The ongoing investigation will reveal everything, particularly other members of the gang.

“From what we have found out, it shows that it’s not their first time. It’s something they have been doing, it’s a routine thing.

“Like we always hear, very many days for the thief, one day for the owner. I think this time, their cup is more than full.” Ikoro said.
