Mutharika pens Judicial Service Commission on Judges to be considered as Ansah’s replacement

President Peter Mutharika has written the Judicial Service Commission requesting it to submit to his office names of nominated Judges to be considered for appointment as Chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
Presidential Press Secretary Mgeme Kalilani has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kalilani, the communication was sent to the Commission through the Office of President and Cabinet on Tuesday May 25 2020.
MEC Chairperson Jane Ansah resigned from her post following pressure from Malawians for failing to manage the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls.
