Unconfirmed reports reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) Director General Godfrey Itaye has been fired from his post.
Itaye has been redeployed to Malawi Post Office to finish his contract. Itaye has been replaced by Mr Shamu.
The firing of Itaye comes barely days after the Malawi Human Right Commission accused MACRA of favouring the state owned Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).
This follows recent scandal where MBC aired news with obscene words against the state Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima but the regulatory body did not act.
