The High Court in Zomba has set August 31 as a day it will deliver a ruling in a murder case in which Misozi Chanthunmya is suspected of murdering his Zimbabwean girlfriend Linda Gasa by August this year.
This is after the defence team indicated they will not be parading any witnesses and will not respond to the charges.
It is alleged that in 2010 Chanthunya murdered Gasa and later on proceeded to bury her at his cottage in Monkey-bay.
Chanthunya then fled the country to South Africa where he later arrested and repatriated back home to answer murder charges.
And on Monday, the High Court sitting in Zomba decided not to proceed to with all the processes after defence lawyer Michael Goba Chipeta told the court they will not be parading defence witnesses.
Meanwhile, High Court Judge Ruth Chinangwa has asked the parties to make their submissions and it is set to deliver her judgment before August 31.
