The Presidential Taskforce on Coronavirus has said it is yet to receive a communiqué from the National Planning Taskforce on the re-opening of schools.

Last week, the National Taskforce on re-opening of the schools proposed July 13, 2020 as the day schools should re-open in the country.

The Taskforce also disclosed it has informed the Presidential Taskforce on the matter.

But Presidential taskforce Co-Chair John Phuka claims that they have not received any communication from the taskforce mandated to look into the safe reopening of schools.

Phuka disclosed this during media briefing.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika ordered for the schools to be closed in March this year as one way of controlling the spread of the Coronavirus.

Mutharika also banned public gatherings of more than 100 people.
