Tonse Alliance torchbearer Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President has said once voted into power he will construct an international airport in Mzuzu city which will be named Orton Chirwa International Airport.
Chakwera said this in Rumphi district where he is conducting whistle stop tours ahead of the fresh Presidential polls scheduled of June 23, 2020.
He has also pledged to complete some road construction projects in the Northern Region which he says have stalled under Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration.
Chakwera also promised to reduce prices of fertilizer K4, 495.00.
Reacting to Chakwera promises, Group Village Headman Bawoloka Kayira said if Chakwera will manage to reduce prices of fertilizer K4,495.00 if he gets into government, Malawians will extend his mandate to govern.
The chief said Chakwera will win the hearts of many Malawians who would have no choice but to vote him into government many times.
Chakwera is together with MCP’s second Vice President Harry Mkandawire and former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachale.
