One person has died while three others have sustained injuries in a road accident in Dedza district.
The accident occurred last-night at Mganja village along Masasa Khwekhwelere-Golomoti road.
The accident involved a Motor vehicle registration number NN 9981 toyota Hiace driven by Lufani Mussa, 30, from katema village in Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi district.
At the time, the driver Lufani Mussa was travelling from the direction of Golomoti towards Masasa along Khwekhwelere road with seven passengers on board.
Upon arrival at Mganja village the Motor vehicle run over a pot hole and the offside rear tyre got burst resulting to the driver losing control of the Motor vehicle and swerved and overturned once.
Following the impact, Suwema Kondwani, 7 months old, from Chimombo village in Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi district died on the spot while her mother Asiyatu Dyton, 28, sustained a deep cut on the left breast and facial bruises on the forehead.
Others sustained various degrees of injuries some are currently admitted to Dedza District Hospital while others were treated as outpatients.
The driver escaped unhurt, however, the motor vehicle was extensively damaged.
