In Colorado, a 21-year-old woman has been gunned down allegedly due to an argument over her dog’s poo.

On June 10, while Isabella Thallas and her boyfriend Darian Simon had been walking their dog, they commanded it to relieve itself, Unilad reveals. Then, Simon heard a voice coming from the ground-floor yelling at the couple and asking if they were going to train the dog or just yell at it. He decided to ignore the stranger, but then, Simon saw the man pointing a gun at him and Isabella.

Multiple shots were fired in Denver’s Ballpark neighborhood. Isabella was killed at the scene, while Darian was shot twice but is expected to survive, The Denver Post reports.

The suspect, Michael Close, 36, was arrested Wednesday, June 10, as a statement by the Denver police claims. According to the police, deputies from Park County Sheriff’s Office stopped Close on Highway 285 and uncovered a rifle and a handgun on the floor of his front passenger seat. The statement reads:

“In summary, the suspect got into a verbal altercation with the victims related to the victims telling the dog to poop. The suspect then shot the victims from inside his apartment.”

The 36-year-old man has reportedly since been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Neighbor Ronan O’Shea, who lives nearby, told The Denver Post he heard six to 12 gunshots in rapid succession. After that, police officers flooded the neighborhood.

“Guns drawn, a lot of running in the streets. They were definitely saying, ‘Active shooter in the area; you need to get inside!’”

The devastated mother of the 21-year-old victim has written the following Facebook tribute to her daughter:

“Today we lost a daughter, sister, grand daughter, niece and friend. The Lord called her home and she is resting in peace with Him… We thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time and will keep you updated on further services. We asked that you kindly respect our privacy and Isabella’s life by keeping this positive and loving.”

Isabella had just turned 21 only days before her tragic death. Her mother describes her as ‘a beautiful, smart, amazing woman’.

Friends of the grieving family have established a GoFundMe page to help them at this difficult time.

“There is no doubt in our minds that Isabella is watching over us today, tomorrow, and forever. This GoFundMe was created by friends of the Thallas family. 100% of donations will go directly to Isabella’s family.”
