State vice president Saulos Chilima has said he is not surprised with a survey released by the Institute of Public Opinion Research (IPOR) which has predicted the victory of Tonse Alliance in the fresh presidential elections.
Chilima said this today in Karonga at Uliwa trading center where he is conducting whistle stops campaigning for the alliance’s torch bearer Lazarus Chakwera a candidate in the fresh polls.
The Tonse Alliance running-mate said that the opinion poll is an indication that Malawians are ready to change the country’s leadership for transformation.
The country’s Vice President who is also running-mate for Tonse Alliance Saulos Chilima says he is not surprised with a recent survey that tips the alliance to win the forthcoming fresh presidential election.
He therefore urged everyone to go and vote when the voting day which is June 23 comes.
United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader also appealed to those that have reversed their decision to vote because he (Chilima) will not be on the ballot to go and vote saying he will be the president of the country when God allows.
Chilima added that this is the time for Chakwera to be the president.
“Some people are saying they will not vote because I am not on the ballot. I am saying 50+1 could not work if I and other party leaders in the alliance were on ballot. I am part of the leadership of Tonse Alliance, therefore, go and vote for Chakwera on June 23,” Chilima said.
