As a day draws near for the fresh Presidential polls, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has shifted its main tally centre to College of Medicine in Blantyre.
Per tradition, MEC used Comesa Hall at Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds as its main tally centre for all General Elections in the country.
MEC Commissioner Steve Duwa confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
MEC will hold fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2020 following a court order nullifying the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls.
Presidential candidates in the fresh polls have intensified the campaign ahead of the polls with Tonse Alliance runningmate Dr. Saulos Chilima invading the Northern Region.
While DPP-UDF Alliance runningmate Atupele Muluzi is in the Eastern Region campaigning for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Meanwhile campaign period is expected to end on Sunday 21, 2020, two hours before the fresh Presidential polls.
