An alleged pedophile is facing jail time of more than 2,750 years on hundreds of charges in connection with the raping of a girl beginning when she was 6 years of age.

36-year-old David McCutcheon was captured last week in Cottage Grove, Oregon and charged with 70 counts of rape, 40 counts of sodomy, and 110 counts of criminal mistreatment for abusing the helpless little girl.

Reportedly, he admitted to authorities that he sexually abused the victim for years in an interview he gave on Monday. The next day he was put under arrest.

Authorities started an investigation in Cottage Grove on May 26 when police in Eugene referred the case to them after concluding that is where the horrors took place, as per KOMO.

According to state law, McCutcheon could be given a prison sentence of 1,750 years if convicted on all 70 charges of first-degree rape. He could get another 1,000 years if convicted on the 40 sodomy charges. First-degree criminal mistreatment can bring a maximum sentence of five years in prison, meaning that the abuser could see an increased sentence of thousands of years if convicted on those charges.

Nevertheless, prosecutors could potentially get to a plea deal that could dismiss some of the charges.

McCutcheon could also be ordered to serve his sentence at the same time or consecutively, which means he would have to complete one sentence before the next one starts.

The man was charged with eight times of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy last Wednesday. At the moment he is being held in the Lane County Jail on a minimum of 220 charges.

His court date is set for July 16, 2020.
