Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that six officers from Zomba Maximum Prison have been fired on allegations that they were behind frequent jail break and the recent strike.
Chimwemwe Shaba, Prison Department spokesperson confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to Shaba, the six have been fired based on disciplinary grounds.
He however refused to disclose the details of the fired officers.
