Running-mate for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)-United Democratic Front (UDF) Atupele Muluzi has tipped President Peter Mutharika that on June 23 he will carry the day.
Muluzi said this yesterday in Lilongwe at Biwi Triangle when Mutharika was coming from Blantyre where he has stayed for a couple of months to Lilongwe kicking his campaign tour in the Central, Northern regions.
According to Muluzi, he has been in various places campaigning for Mutharika and people have assured him that they will vote for Mutharika in the fresh presidential elections.
“I am confident you will get a lot of votes in all regions of the country,” said Muluzi.
In the nullified May 21, 2019 presidential elections, Mutharika was declared a winner but opposition rushed to court challenging Mutharika’s victory.
Following the arguments presented in court, the Constitutional Court on February 3, declared that Mutharika was not duly elected hence sanctioning fresh presidential elections.
