Of all the things you can do in Austria, just don’t let go of your fart, especially near police- just keep it in,  or unless you got a US$600 change on your pocket. Vienna police just don’t prefer a flatulent or “fartalots”.

A Vienna man will regret the day he let nature take its course. He has been fined a staggering €500 (£448 or $564) fee for farting violently at a park in the vicinity of the police earlier this month.

Details of what transpired were confessed by Vienna police department on Twitter after public outrage over a photo of the charge sheet went viral on social media.

The Austrian police department rushed to defend their charge.

“He got up from a park bench, looked at officers and let go a massive intestinal wind apparently with full intent”, they said.

It is reported that the penalty stemmed from an incident on June 5 at a city park where the offender decided to cut the cheese violently in a manner the police thought was “provocative and unco-operative.

It is said that the unnamed suspect rose from a park bench during a confrontation with the police and, “looked at the officers and apparently intentionally released a massive intestinal wind in the immediate vicinity of the officers”.

“Of course no one is reported for accidentally letting one go,” City police wrote on Twitter.

“And our colleagues don’t like to be farted at so much,” they added.

Maybe he just should have done it so less. But police noted he can appeal the decision.
