Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has said the Ballot Papers for the Fresh Presidential polls are expected to arrive in the country this morning.

The ballot will arrive in the country from Dubai through Kamuzu International Airport by a FLY Emirates plane at 11:30.
MEC Chairperson Dr. Chifundo Kachale disclosed this on Thursday night during a media briefing in the capital Lilongwe.

According to Kachale, the ballot papers will be guarded by MDF soldiers when they arrive in the country.

Kachale further said distribution of the ballot papers will commence immediately after the ballot papers arrive.

MEC will hold fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2020 following constitutional court ruling nullifying the May 21, 2019 which saw President Peter Mutharika being declared winner.
