Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that a wife to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also torchbearer for Tonse Alliance, Monica is in self quarantine after returning from United States of America.
Chakwera’s wife all this while has been in the United States of America and she missed the funeral of her mother in Rumphi last month.
According to information at handa, Chakwera’s wife jetted in the country this week and she is in self isolation following measures put in place by government to prevent further spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Once Chakwera is elected into power on June 23, 2020, Monica will be the first lady of the country.
Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will hold fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2020 following nullification of the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls.
