The Association of Laboratory Scientists in the country have penned President Peter Mutharika to fire newly appointed Deputy Director of Health Technical Support Services Dr. Ndifanji Namacha.
The Association has threatened to down tools if government fails to bow down to its demands.
However, the association is protesting her appointment by among other things accusing her of not being qualified for the post.
Victor Makwinja, Chairperson for Malawi Association of Laboratory Scientists was of the view such appointments of unqualified personnel in the health sector are leading to the deterioration of service delivery in the sector.
According to Makwinja, the association has therefore given government starting from 22nd June, just 3 days to reconsider its decision, failure which workers in from the department will start industrial actions.
