Malawi has registered 19 new positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the confirmed tally to 749.
In the statement signed by Co-chairperson for the presidential Covid-19 task force Dr. John Phuka the country has not registered new deaths and recoveries.
According to the statement, 8 of the new cases are from Lilongwe of which 7 are contacts of a confirmed case and 1 has a history of travel.
1 is from Chitipa a contact from a confirmed case, and 10 were identified through the routine screening exercise being conducted at Mwanza boarder.
There are however 480 active cases following 11 deaths and 258 recoveries.
