Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Justice Chifundo Kachale has appealed to the citizenry to refrain from taking the laws into their hands over election disagreements.

Kachale said this this morning during a press briefing at the National’s Main Tally Centre, College of Medicine in the commercial city of Blantyre.

According to Kachale, people risk creating an environment of chaos and lawlessness if they continue with such behaviors’.

He has since urged the public to report suspicious activities to legitimate law enforcement agencies.

Kachale’s remarks come amid reports of attacks on Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) monitors in the central and eastern regions.
