A group of young men near Mzuzu CCAP Primary School polling station has chased away unknown politicians who were suspected of distributing sums of money to prospective voters.
The individuals were using a white double cabin vehicle without a registration number.
However, eye witnesses claimed that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regional governor Christopher Mzomera Ngwira was in company of the individuals.
Speaking in an interview with Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Ngwira denied the allegations, claiming that he visited the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia premises, where there is the polling centre, to meet some clergy.
“I went to the synod car park and talked to two people who told me the Synod is on holiday today. I then went away with my boys. I didn’t distribute any money. You mean as the DDP regional governor I am not even supposed to check around the polling centres?” he charged.
