A suspected Democratic Progress Party (DPP) Cadet, Bright Kapata, has been arrested for allegedly being found with Pepper Spray, panga knifes and twists of cannabis (chamba) at Mzimba South District Tally Centre.

Kapata wanted to enter the tally centre carrying the pepper spray, only to be caught by Malawi Defense Force (MDF) and police personnel providing security at the centre.

He told the army and police officers that he had allegedly been sent by one of the DPP officials in the north.

Meanwhile, the suspected cadet and three others have been taken to Mzimba Police Station for further interrogation.
