The Chairperson of Human Rights Defenders Coalition, Gift Trapence has urged the next president to be accountable on a number issues  including Nsundwe rape saga.

Trapence made the remarks during a press briefing that the organization had in Blantyre on proceeding of presidential election.

According to Trapence, civil society organizations tabulated unofficial results indicate Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has won the election.

He urged Chakwera to be answerable once announced as the president of the country.

Gift Trapence has since commended Malawians for a peaceful election, calling on them to maintain peace as they wait for official results.
