Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) Msonkho House Head Office has been sealed indefinitely for auditing.
The development come barely hours after the swearing-in of newly elected President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera of Tonse Alliance.
It is reported that MRA was being used by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to siphon money from public coffers.
Recently reports also emerged that there was a recruitment of some DPP cadets at the Msonkho House and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) moved in to stop the exercise.
The audit exercise according to information at hand has been ordered by the newly elected President and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima.
During the campaign period, Chilima warned statutory corporation in the country especially directors to desist from corruption mal-practice or risk being fired once Tonse Alliance is elected in power.
