The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has said it is conducting an audit to determine what led to its loss in the fresh presidential elections on June 23.
In te court sanctioned presidential elections DPP trailed behind Tonse Alliance whose presidential candidate was Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera.
The DPP lost miserably to the Tonse Alliance after amassing 58.5 percent of the votes against its 39 percent of the total votes cast.
Critics cite increased cases of corruption and non-adherence to the rule of law as factors that led to the downfall of the party.
DPP Vice President for the Southern Region Kondwani Nankhumwa assures the party supporters that they will bounce back in power.
