Agriculture Technicians Union of Malawi (ATUM) has given the new government a 21 days ultimatum to resolve issues of salary arrears and increments as well as mobility concerns.

They have since disclosed that they will hold vigils at the Capital Hill Agriculture Offices if their concerns would not be responded within the stated period.

The technicians are responsible for collecting and presenting raw data on agriculture production estimate surveys for the country.

The technicians are currently withholding results of the country’s final crop estimates which were expected to be released last month.
