Traffic Police have issued a strong warning to minibus operators who are persistently violating the Covid-19 passenger capacity restriction for commuters.

This follows the spike of new coronavirus cases in the country.

Despite a recent surge in coronavirus cases, some minibus operators, especially those plying their trade in cities, continue to exceed permitted capacity thereby raising fears of possible mass transmissions.

Officer-in-Charge of the Traffic Police Macpherson Matowe has said that the cops will go tough on all who breach set regulations.

Meanwhile, Malawi has 1877 confirmed cases with 1508 active cases, 345 have recovered and 24 casualties.
