The government of Malawi has imposed mandatory use of face masks in all its offices to protect public officers and clients from contracting the coronavirus.
In a statement issued today, Chief Secretary to the Government Zanga-Zanga Chikhosi advised all clients seeking services in public offices to wear face masks or they will not be assisted.
Chikhosi further reminded all clients to strictly observe other preventive measures such as washing hands with soap, maintaining social distancing, covering the mouth when coughing, avoid hand shakes and refrain from visiting government offices if they have flue-like symptoms.
Currently, Malawi has registered 1,942 with 25 deaths and 1,548 recoveries.
