The High Court in Lilongwe has granted Women Lawyers Association (WLA) 16 July as the date to start hearing the Msundwe rape case.

This comes after Malawi Police Service(MPS) failed to serve witness statements and skeleton arguments on 8th October, 2019 and on 26th May, 2020 as it was order by the court.

According WLA spokesperson Mphatso Iphan, after the start on july 16, the case will proceed for hearing on 30th and 31st July, 2020.

However, MPS spokesperson James Kadadzera has said they have been communicating on numerous occasions that the police will see it that the case comes to its logical conclusion.
