Good governance commentator Makhumbo Munthali has hailed Tonse Alliance for speaking out when things are wrong in the case of the recent cabinet released by President Lazarus Chakwera.

Yesterday, Chakwera released a 31 member cabinet contrary to what he earlier promised that his cabinet will have less than 30 members.

In his recent released cabinet, Chakwera is seen giving ministerial positions to people of the same families, of which others have described it as an appeasement cabinet.

Writing on his Facebook page, Munthali commended Tonse Alliance supporters for holding Chakwera-Chilima presidency accountable unlike Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) cadets.

“One key lesson we are learning from Tonse Alliance supporters: Unlike DPP cadets,  Tonse Alliance supporters are able to publicly hold Chakwera-Chilima Presidency accountable,” Munthali.

He added; “That’s an interesting new wave of accountability in Malawi. #No accountability No peace,”

Meanwhile, Malawians are still debating on the recent released cabinet.
