A French man who was accused of raping and sexually abusing more than 300 children in Indonesia has died days after he attempted to kill himself, say police.
According to the reports, Francois Abello Camille, 65, could have faced life in prison, chemical castration or death by firing squad had he been found guilty of the alleged crimes against kids as young as 10.
Reports continue to say that, he allegedly preyed on vulnerable street kids, it was reported.
The retiree was with two underage girls in a hotel room in Jakarta when he was arrested in June, said police.
He died in a Jakarta police hospital on Sunday night, three days after what police said on Monday was a suicide bid in his jail cell.
