A dhaba owner from Gurugram allegedly killed a newly married woman before ending his own life. The 30-year-old man was identified as Rajesh. The incident took place in Pataudi area on Sunday. The deceased woman was identified as Priyanka.
The two deceased were residents of Nankuan village in Pataudi and had known each other for several years. As per the police, the two deceased had been in a relationship in the past.
An investigation revealed that Rajesh was married and was a father to 3 children. Priyanka got married on June 29 and had come to visit her family. The incident came to light when the 20-year-old woman’s uncle Ramji Lal lodged a complaint with the police.
Lal alleged that Rajesh came to Priyanka’s home on Saturday and took her to his dhaba. However, when Priyanka did not return till late, her family members started looking for her.
At around 5 am on Sunday, the family found Priyanka’s body at a vacant plot behind Rajesh’s dhaba, The Times of India reported. Lal told the police, “He had first fired a bullet at my niece in the chest and then shot himself in the head. ” The two bodies were lying in close proximity to each other and the pistol was lying next to them.
After being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the bodies for the autopsy. The police booked the dhaba owner under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
