President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has appointed leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Vice President of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the South as member of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
Nankhumwa’s appointment follows reconstitution of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 by the President.
The Malawi leader has also established a National Covid-19 Office in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC).
“The governance structure for the management of the Covid-19 pandemic will comprise a reconstituted Presidential Task Force and a National Secretariat,” reads the statement in part.
