The founder and Managing Director for Bantu Artist and Crafts Limited Edward Malunga has commended government for suspending the re-opening of schools in the country due to Covid-19.

Speaking in an interview, Malunga said the re-opening of schools would increase the spread of the pandemic which could be risky to students.

“Even if the schools were to open, i would not allow my children to go school to avoid contracting the virus, he said.

Malunga suggested that government should announce lockdown for 20 days and provide essential things to companies and people who cannot afford to buy foods and other items during the lockdown period.

“Doing this way Covid-19 can be avoided for further spread and this is the best solution to curb the pandemic which has affected the economy globally,” said Malunga.

He further said children would be easily infected by their friends because they could be sharing foods and they won’t know the preventive measures.
