A 30-year-old man allegedly murdered his 20-year-old brother for making overtures towards his wife in Bisalpur area of Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district on late on Wednesday. The accused man’s wife assisted him in committing the crime.

After the victim’s death, the couple dumped his body outside their neighbour’s house in an attempt to negate their involvement in the crime. However, it couldn’t be kept under the wraps for long as their father approached the local police and registered a complaint against his elder son.

In a written complaint, the victim’s father Babu Ram, who is also the accused man’s father, said that his younger son Ved Prakash was allegedly making overtures towards Gyan Devi, the wife of his elder brother Om Prakash. The couple did not his conduct so they murdered him, according to a report by The Times of India.

Upon receiving the complaint, police arrested Om and his wife Gyan Devi and booked them under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of the common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

In another incident, a 40-year-old woman was murdered by her husband, who suspected her of having an illicit relationship. The accused stabbed the woman multiple times with scissors in front of their two minor sons, aged seventeen and six years. When the elder child tried to intervene, the accused threatened him with murder.

The accused fled from the house, leaving the woman in a pool of blood. The children raised the alarm, following which neighbours arrived and rushed the woman to a hospital where she succumbed the next day.
