The Lilongwe Magistrate Court is this morning expected to deliver a ruling on a bail application by Norman Chisale, a bodyguard of former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

Chisale has been charged with 2 counts of fraud and money laundering.

He was arrested on Tuesday by fiscal police.

Chisale is accused of facilitating the importation of over 400,000 bags of cement on duty free by former President Peter Mutharika.

Reports from Lilongwe indicates that there is tight security at the Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Lilongwe.

The tight security follows the Wednesday fracas where youth cadets for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) assaulted Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) cameraman for filming the incident.
