The Civil Society Education Coalition (CISEC) is reiterating calls for the gradual reopening of schools in the country.

Students in the country have been out of school for almost four months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

CISEC Executive Director Benedicto Kondowe suggests starting with students in their final year and those expected to write exams.

This has however sparked debate among members of the public on whether the right to education is more important than the right to life.

However, the presidential task-force on Covid-19 has said it is still not safe for schools to reopen considering that there is still a spike in coronavirus cases.
