As consumers continue expressing dissatisfaction with data tariffs, Minister of Information Gospel Kazako has directed the Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority (Macra) to look into the issue.
He said though most data service providers in the country single out government taxes, which they argue affects their business and forces them to put huge pricing on data, the minister said the service providers make huge profits regardless.
Kazako has also directed Macra to start holding all broadcasting stations accountable to their standards of operations, including Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC).
