Three passengers have died while six others sustained various degrees of injuries following the road accident that involved a blue saloon Toyota Avanza motor vehicle with registration number BP5673 driven by unknown driver along Nkhotakota Salima road.
All the three dead passengers plus the six injured are still unknown.
The driver of the motor vehicle was coming from the direction of Nkhotakota heading Salima with eleven passengers on board and upon arrival at Mbuna village in the area of T/A Khombedza, he lost control of the vehicle due to speeding and went to the extreme nearside where the vehicle overturned.
Due to the impact, nine unknown casualties were rushed to Salima District Hospital. Two unknown male passengers and one young female passenger were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital while six unknown casualties are still admitted at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police in Salima are appealing to the public to report any missing relative who was on journey yesterday to their office and they also keep on advising drivers to prevent overspeeding as this is still claiming many lives in our roads.
