Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda who is also Chairperson of the new Covid-19 Taskforce committee disclosed this during a media briefing in the capital Lilongwe on Tuesday.
According to Kandodo, the country has recorded 104 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to confirmed cases to 3149.
Kandodo disclosed that government will continue to review the Covid-19 situation in the country and how to effectively manage it.
On his part, Co-chairperson John Phuka said the committee has agreed to strengthen support to health workers to ensure that they are protected.
He said government will recruit 700 more Health workers as soon as possible.
On testing, he said the committee plans to decentralise the testing as the country will receive 35,000 kits this week.
