Former president Peter Mutharika has given a message of hope to all Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters that the party will bounce back with a bang in the next elections in 2025.

Mutharika said this through his Facebook page where he disclosed that he had an audience with DPP officials from the eastern region which was led by DPP’s ‘president’ for the region Bright Msaka at his (Mutharika) Mangochi Villa.

In what he described as good news, Mutharika instilled hope to the DPP family after he assured them that he will never leave them and he will always fight with them till the end.

“I have good news to you all the DPP followers, I will never leave you and I will always fight with you till the end,” Mutharika said.

The 80 year old retired head of state, promised that in the next election DPP will return in power and that he will render his full support for the mission to be accomplished just as it happened in 2012 when president Bingu Wa Mutharika passed away.

“Come next election, DPP will be bouncing back in government and I will render all my support to make sure this is achieved as we did between 2012 to 2014,” said Mutharika.

He immediately cautioned Chakwera-Chilima presidency saying it is no the change that Malawians were looking for.

“Malawians have already seen that their much touted change has not brought them the change they were looking for,” he said.

Before asking the DPP family to stay safe from the deadly coronavirus pandemic, he called upon DPP supporters to remain strong and vigilant, united and principled as they are striving to achieve their victory together.

I therefore call upon all DPP supporters to remain strong and vigilant, united and principled so that we achieve this together.
