Death has been announced of the Senior Chief M’bwana of Nkhata Bay district who has died of the novel coronavirus.
Senior Chief M’bwana born Francis Nyirenda died of the virus on July 22 in the afternoon at his house in Usisya, according to a press statement released by the Ministry of Local Government.
The statement revealed that the late Senior Chief M’bwana was born on 1947, and h was elevated to Senior Chief M’bwana on May 28, 2011.
He is survived by six children and four grandchildren.
Burial of the late Senior Chief M’bwana is expected to take place today at M’bwana headquarters in the district.
