Mathanga, three others in court for bail

Commissioner for Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Jean Mathanga and three others are today appearing before the court for formal charges.
Mathanga, former Board Chair of Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM), John Kandulu, former ESCOM Chief Executive Officer and two other employees were arrested on Thursday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The three are accused of plundering the statutory body through dubious procurement.
The accused are expected to apply for bail.
