A nurse in Nigeria has allegedly hacked his wife and two children to death on last Friday following a minor argument at their house.
The incident reportedly occurred in Inisa area of the state, according to local media.
The suspect, Tunde Oyediran, after the killings, was said to have used the cutlass to slightly cut his hand and stomach and subsequently raised a false alarm that they were attacked by unknown assailants.
However, preliminary investigation by the Police indicated deception on the part of Oyediran, who was subsequently arrested for the dastardly act and the cutlass used for the killings was recovered from him.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed this to newsmen, said Tunde Oyeniran has been arrested and is currently being treated for the injuries on his body.
She said men of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department have already commenced investigation to unravel the mystery behind the attack.
“From the information available to us, the incident happened around 11pm last Friday in Inisa. The suspect reportedly used a cutlass to kill his wife, Sarah, and the two children living with them.
Three corpses recovered from the scene have been deposited in a morgue in for post-mortem examination. A cutlass was also recovered from the scene. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Undie Adie, has directed thorough investigation into the incident.”
