A cash-in-transit robber has been found guilty on 15 charges and sentenced to 2 life sentences, a total of 130 years.
Stanford Manoko Diagoane, 40, had the sentence handed down to him in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Friday.
According to Briefly.co.za, the heist Diagoane was involved in took place almost 4 years ago. He was arrested on the 7th July 2018 by the Gauteng Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, Crime Intelligence and the Limpopo Tracking Team.
He was in possession of 2 assault rifles at his house in Soshanguve. The weapons were linked to a robbery near Marikana village on Soutpan Road, according to Hawks spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu.
The armoured cash vehicle was accosted by the accused wherein the two security personnel were fatally wounded. The suspects used explosives to destroy the safe of the cash van and they fled with R641 000,” Mulamu said.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Lizzy Lekgotoane, 68, Quomane Letshoa, 41, and Jabulani Mmamadi, 36, in Soshanguve according to The Citizen.
Lekgotoane was found not guilty and discharged on Thursday, the other two, Letshoa and Mmamadi did not survive to reach trial.
