Mzuzu Magistrate Court has adjourned to unknown date a case involving well-known rapper Fredokiss.

Fredokiss, real name Penjani Kalua was arrested on June 23, 2020 after being found dishing out cash to electoral during the day of fresh Presidential polls which saw President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera being declared winner.

Kalua’s lawyer Leonard Mbulo confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Mbulo, the case failed to commence today because Magistrates are working on shifts due to Coronavirus pandemic.

He said the Magistrate who was supposed to preside over the case failed as she is scheduled to work on Mondays.

“We have been advised by the registry that we will be given another date,” he said.

Kalua is accused of offering handouts during the previous presidential election, contrary to the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections Act (PPEA).
