Government has announced plans to resume discussions with Khatho Civils and Lilongwe Water Board on the Salima-Lilongwe Water Project which has halted for some time.

Minister of Forestry and Natural Resources Nancy Tembo disclosed this when she toured Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) offices.

“We will initiate discussions between LWB and Khato civils, we need that project,” he said.

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government cancelled the project in what the owner of Khato, Simbi Phiri called it political motivated decision.

The implementation of the project will require an investment of K400 billion.
