Magistrate Court in Lilongwe is today expected to give its ruling on a bail application by the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) CEO Collins Magalasi and two others.

Magalasi appeared in court on Wednesday, last week, together with his co-accused namely MERA spokesperson Patrick Maulidi and business lady Dorothy Shonga.

During the appearance, the state asked the court to retain the trio in custody as investigations into their case were still ongoing.

Recently, MERA came in the spotlight for the alleged purchasing of a mobile fuel testing vehicle for K704 million.

Previously, the tests were being referred to the Malawi Bureau of Standards.
